Rio Terrà delle Botteghe, the main street of the old town of Caorle, was created by filling in an ancient canal. This is the Caorle of the fishermen’s houses, painted in bold colours — reds, blues and yellows — chosen so that they could be recognised from the sea. Today, it is the main street for shopping and nightlife, bustling all year round.
